Now that the Whitney Biennial has returned to its full fledged New York artist-dealer-collector love-fest pre-2000 roots, its time for Atlanta artists to try and reverse the trend.
Believe it or don't, the Whitney actually accepts submissions for its Biennials! From their website, here are the submission guidelines:
Submissions:
All submissions to be considered for exhibition in the Biennial should include the artist's biography or resume, a brief description of the proposed work, and between six and eight images. Recommended formats for images include slides, computer printouts, digital images on a CD_ROM, audio CDs, or VHS videotapes. We do not accept original artworks in the submission package.
Submissions may be sent to:

Although the 2005 Atlanta Biennial, at Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, takes a look at the whole of the Southeastern region, the 2007 exhibition will return to a focus on the 100 mile radius around Atlanta.
Artists, at all levels, should also be aware that the Contemporary accepts slides on an ongoing basis through the Open Slide review process, visit http://thecontemporary.org/pages/gallery/gallery_howtosub.html.
