Takashi Murakami's offset lithos have been a sensation on ebay and at the major auction houses over the last year or so, but lately the prices have softened up a tad and its now possible to buy one of these terrific prints for under $1,000. (Of course, if you can figure out how to get in on the action first from Murakami's site, the prints are less than $200.) Here's a link to the current prints available on ebay. There may or may not be any there, but keep checking. Lately, bids have been topping out at around $900. Murakami's newest realease, above, is for sale frequently.
The same prints sell routinely at the major auction houses for between $1,500 and $3,500 and at galleries starting at about $2,000.
MIAMI ALERT! The list of galleries in the NADA fair this year is now on-line and the most interesting new participant has to be Murakami's Kaikai Kiki with locations listed in both New York and Japan. For collectors on a budget, this is the first place I'd have the taxi take me from the Miami airport.
