Last Sunday the Atlanta Journal & Constitution ran a mega feature story on who makes what in the Atlanta arts community. Its nice to see that Michael Shapiro, director of the High Museum, has managed to receive raises in excess of 20% per year in the midst of continuous staff cuts at the museum. I don't know one person in the Atlanta arts community that actually likes what's going on at the High yet there are long lines every weekend to see the museum's latest dead artist show "from Van Gogh to Mondrian".
I have done my own highly scientific analysis of the High's 2004 finances. I don't recommend this for everyone, after all I am a highly trained CPA and am uniquely qualified to undertake these tasks:
